Canada
RiseUp Pitch Competition: The RiseUp Pitch Competition and Program offers the opportunity for Black Women+ entrepreneurs at different stages of business to pitch for the chance to win $10,000 and access to entrepreneurial development resources. You can apply here to participate. The 2023 deadline is February 12, 2023
Innovators & Entrepreneurs Foundation Micro-Grants: There are four grants provided by this foundation. Each grant is designed to support entrepreneurs & innovators from racialized and under-represented communities across Canada. You can apply here to participate. The 2023 deadline is February 14, 2023.
Mitacs Grants for Researchers & Students: These grants are designed to support researchers, students and businesses in the development of new ideas. You can apply here to participate.
FACE Propelling Black Entrepreneurship Grant: This program is focused on supporting budding Black entrepreneurs in Canada. Will be open in April 2023, follow their page for more information.
Keep It Local Business Grant Program: This grant is powered by the Nextdoor Kind Foundation, will award $5,000 microgrants to entrepreneurs of color, enabling them to help strengthen and support communities at a local level. Not yet open for the year however you can bookmark there link here to participate.
thisBag Small Business Grant: This grant is to help canadian businesses affected by Covid-19. Visit their website to apply.
Business ACCESS-Ability Grant Program: This grant from the Province of Nova Scotia provides up to $30,000 to ensure either your physical or online business is accessible to all. Visit their website for more details.
United States
Fast Break for Small Business: This program offers grants of up to $10,000 for small businesses in the US. You can apply here to participate. The 2023 deadline is February 17, 2023.
FedEx® Small Business Grant Contest: The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest provides ten small businesses with up to a $25,000 grant each year. You can apply here to participate. The 2023 deadline is February 21, 2023.
Wish Local Empowerment Program: The Wish Local Empowerment Program offers small grants ranging from $500-$2,000 for black businesses to use towards marketing and operations in the US. You can apply here to participate.
Ben & Jerry’s Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Grants: This grant program provides grants to social entrepreneurs whose mission aligns with the core values of the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation. Up to $15,000 is awarded to successful applicants. To be eligible, you must submit a business plan that outlines how their mission and goals align with the foundation’s core values. You can apply here.
Black Girl Ventures: This grant from Black Girl Ventures provides funding and resources for black female entrepreneurs in cities across the US. It provides up to $5,000 in capital. To be eligible, you must have an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and be a female founder or co-founder of a business. Visit their website for more details.
Other Grants
Google Ad Grants: Google Ad Grants provides eligible nonprofits with up to $10,000 per month in advertising credit on Google Ads. You can apply here to participate.
